Apple Records
What's better to record music with, an apple laptop or a windows laprop?
I'm going to college this fall and would like to record music on my off hours, so I need a computer that can handle both recording music and the basic office applications. So do i get a mac or a pc? I've heard macs are better for recording music, but ive never really used one. Any advice would be appreciated.
I, being a musician for the last ten years, have had experience with ALL kinds of laptops and OS's, and believe me when I say the mac is the best, because it handles audio data with almost zero loss, and supports all, and I mean ALL regular formats of audio(support for abnormal formats can be downloaded completely free of charge). It's fantastic. It's also a bit pricey, but considering that it crashes so less - maybe once or twice a month if you treat it well (even if you use it 24/7) - it saves you the price of countless servicing sessions that are associated with owning a regular laptop. It's great for doing work, too - the built in word processor is a bit basic, but for a low price, microsoft office for mac is available, and it is far more stable than office for windows. I would recommend the white Macbook. (black is more costly). It comes with all the software you need, and all the graphics cards and bla bla bla that us musicians don't really give much shit about, so don't worry about having to upgrade. If you can wait a bit, buy it in october when they release the new OS called Leopard. Then you won't have to buy it separately, because it comes with the laptop.
