Band Greatest Hits
When a band says they're coming with a greatest hits album, does that mean they're basically done?
Like, are they just going to take a break from recording new songs or are they done? like forever? dead and gone?
Usually it's to fulfill contractual obligations, i.e. do what the company wants. Which is to make more money for the company and/or take a break. A lot of live albums are for the same reasons; a way to give the company enough 'product' to fulfill their contracts. (The bands are usually doing what they're told.)
