What would be the best all around instructional source for learning to play the delta blues classics?
I seem to get a lot out of instructional dvd's, I'm an intermediate player, any suggestions? Thanks
Get an old acoustic and take it down to this old crossroads in Mississippi. There, a black man will meet you at midnight and ask if he can play your guitar, give it to him. He will tune it, play a song and hand it back to you. Then, and only then, will you be able to play the Delta Blues! =)
Man, those guys played what sounded good to them and many couldn't really even read music or tell you what chords they were playing.
I just listen to it over and over and over and over to try to get the feel for it. I still suck at the old stuff though.
