How do you find the distance of a straight line diagonally down the centre of a rectangle from the corners?
Ok so I dont know how to word this properly but what I want to know is how do you find the distance of the middle of a rectangle from corner to corner diagonally??
eg. a rectangle is 28 m on the long side and 15m on the top and bottom. How would I find the distance of a straight line down the centre diagonally from the left hand corner to the right hand corner???

The diagonal of a rectangle creates two right triangles.
The square of the hypotinous (sp?) is equal to the sum of the squares of the sides.
The hypotinous (sp?) is the diagonal. So 28^2 + 15^2 is the answer you seek squared.
So your answer is the square root of that sum.
