When Eminem performed Stan with Elton John: Did the audience know Elton John was going to perform?
Hey thanks for viewing my question,
I remember him performing it and it was just great. I watched the video and I'm not sure the audience knew he was there until his part came up. There was a curtain over him too I think until his part. Was it scheduled so that everyone knew Eminem was going to perform with Elton John?
I think that was a very powerful moment, because of all the crazy criticism Eminem got for some of his songs. I appreciate it for any help.

The "entire" audience didn't know but it was planned. Eminem at that time was in so much hot water with the Gay & Lesbian Community he had to do something....plus...Sir Elton John had actually befriended him and had offered to help him with his drug battle (something Elton John had a lifelong problem with but has licked). If you watched "the bear hug" after the song you'll see that Em seemed a bit uncomfortable but I do believe that it may have been the camel that broke the back of him stopping from spewing hatred at the GLBT society that at least a while. In all honesty I think Em had "hate" issues since childhood and don't think they were "homo" based as much as "family" basd and he just spewed hate. Once his drug addiction is licked for good I think a totally new man will evolve and a lot of things will change. I still thinks he's "uncomfortable" but at least has common courtesy to keep it to himself.
