"Directed by Anton Corbijn and starring Sam Riley, Control is a brilliant musical and true drama set in between Manchester and Macclesfield in England in the late 1970s, during punk's time. The main character is Ian Curtis (played by Sam Riley), the singer of the band called Joy Division. This band was like a bombshell in that time since Joy Division is not a punk, but a cold-wave band, we mean by that word that Joy Division was not by the way they played, they did not scream as punks used to do. Nevertheless, they were influenced by punk bands in so far as they did not know how to play any instrument when they began to play together (they learnt as rehearsals ). Joy Division existed from 1977 to 1980.
