I am going to chicago on vacation in June. Can anyone suggest good places to eat and nice inexpensive hotels?
Im looking for dining places that are not like mainstream, but are locally popular. And nice but inexpensive hotels, preferably close to downtown....is that possible? Also, what are some good things to do...other than the typical tourist sites?
I stay at Chicago Super 8 Loyola university. This is much less expensive than downtown. It is a block from a great Lake Michigan beach. It is in a brownstone area, and has secure underground parking for your car. You then can walk to movie theatres, Giordanos, etc. Within a couple blocks of Charmers, a great little coffee place. A couple more blocks, and you can get on the El, and be in the city in 15 minutes or so. Cheap transportation, and takes you all over! Be sure to get off in Wrigleyville, to check out the the nightlife!
