Has Gone
At what point do you feel Freedom of Speech has gone too far?
Freedom of speech does go too far in many instances today, and this fact can be illustrated by these obvious restrictions on the 1st amendment:
1. You cant shout fire in a crowded theatre (the most well known example of all)
2. You cant write anything you want in a public school newspaper without the possibility of censorship
3. You cannot lie in court, talk out of turn during a trial, or discuss trial matters outside of a courtroom even when the judge forbids it (i.e. you cannot plea the 1st amendment in the same way that you plea the 5th amendment)
4. You cant sing or perform an act in a public place without the possibility of the police or government trying to stop you
There are many more examples, but the bottom line is, freedom of speech MUST be limited for the simple fact that if it werent limited, then pandemonium would break out. If the common people were just a little bit more normal, then limits of free speech would likely not be an issue
