Battery Cold Cranking Amps?
The battery of my Toyota 4Runner died. It was orig from japan,since 2003. Since was out of town so I didn't gamble on buying from after market stores and drove directly to the nearest toyota parts/service. They replaced the battery with Toyota Truestart batt. When I arrived home, I opened the hood and noticed that it only has 550 Cold Cranking Amps, the original has 675CCA. Is that OK for my vehicle? I live in Sacramento, the temp in winter may not drop below 35 Degrees. How come that they installed a lower CCA than the orig? I mean it has a V8 engine. Should I have this one replaced? I called them but they said, you can not trust those advertisements from unknown supplier and they will replace the batt anytime in the warranty period of seven years should it fail.. What do you think? thanks..
I live in Manteca so for our climate the 550 is more than enough cca and you size engine. I bet you don't notice a thig when you start it true? Plus it will be easier on your alternator to keep it charged.
