Uni-Prep for Swiss,any Swiss out there?
Hello smart people out there, teenager here moving out the parents protection nest here ^^
Im heading for switzerland to take hospitality and tourism management.Problem is, I never been to switzerland, been doing a lot of research on the economy and cost of living.. and my conclusion CHF400-500 per month should do it taking into consideration monthly groceries, internet and phone bill (accomadation and food is provided 3 meals every weekday and brunch and dinner on weekends by the uni but thats never enough...i eat a lot but hopefully i could trust myself to budget,) , the "occasional" outting,snowboarding fee,transportation and CHF50-100 in the bank for emergencies
is that too much or too little?
ps:my uni is at montreux,caux (top of the mountain ^^)
OK, I just asked my Swiss exchange student about snowboarding. With lunch in a restaurant, one day he says between CH 75 and 150 around Montreux. He says that's for a day. For two weeks, he's paid CH500. A McDonald's meal is CH10. A "real" restaurant is CH35. He adds that near a uni, there may be student discounts -- he says to make sure to ask!
There are some cool things to do around Montreux, don't forget Chillon!

Also, for a fantastic Swiss dining experience (especially in winter) I recommend the Brasserie Jägerstübli in Solothurn. Amazing place and the chef is one of the best in the country (another one of my exchange student's family owns it). It is for traditional swiss food, esp. fondue.
Bottom line, you may need some more money. Switzerland is a fantastic country but VERY expensive!
