The Stones album Their Satanic Majesties Request....what are your opinions on it?
It was the first Rolling Stones album to get bad reviews. Some have said it sounded too much like the Beatles. What do you think?
I absolutely love it. I think the only reason it got such bad reviews was because it was such a departure from the Stone's previous work, and some people are just less willing to accept change than others. Satanic Majesties has some of my favorite psychadelia to come out of the 60's and 70's. "She's a Rainbow", "2000 Light Years from Home", and "Citadel" are all awesome. I love the underwater vocal effect Bill Wyman uses. It freaks me out a bit, but it's awesome.
Geez, and if they want to talk about sounding too much like the Beatles, tell them to take a little listen at Oasis...
