Where and how did marching band originate?
Please have credible resources. I'm not doing a report or anything, I just want some facts here so I know it's true. Plus you should check out Nishihara Marching Band 2001, just type in "Best Marching Show Ever" on Youtoube. They're beyond amazing.

Thank you for answering. Hah, I too wondering how long they practice to get so great.
Marching band originated in the ancient world with traveling musicians who had performed together at festivals and celebrations. Then it moved on to military bands that supported the troops at wars, and evolved into the regular marching bands known today.
This is an excerpt from a report that I had to do for my demonstration speech in gym. I'm not sure what my source was anymore. I'll check out that band as soon as I submit this
