How can you tell if a DVD is original?
I have recently bought a DVD set via eBay. I have bought DVDs many times via eBay and had no trouble. This time I wanted a set that required me to "hack" my player so that it would run Region 1 discs.
The set that I have bought are boxed and described as used and therefore weren't sealed in cellophane. Appearance wise, they look like originals. The artwork on the discs and the box cover look very good. Playing them - I am finding that they skip and I get break-up of picture which is annoying.
I have no Region 1 DVDs that I know are original that I can try to check if my player is faulty.
The player that I'm using is a few years old now, which makes me think it might not be all the discs fault.
Is there any way of checking the authenticity of the discs for sure?
Obviously if they have been sold as copies I will try to return them and get a refund. I shall also consider reporting the matter to eBay and F.A.C.T. which I am duty bound to do.
have a look on the back of the disc. look at the colour if its silver colour its probly an original. but if its a blue/purple or a greeny colour its no doubt a copy.
