what does it mean by 24 KT GOLD "PLATED "?

I rarely visit hyper links but did in your case because I am a gemologist. This record is a vinyl record recording that is plated with solid gold. This means that a thin layer of 24K gold is impressed upon the record. It is the same as all "gold albums" in the industry and is the same that is presented to the artist. The same is said for "Platinum" albums as well.
Is it worth a lot? That depends upon what it is worth to you. The gold value is probably $2, but the presentation or the artist is where the value lies. An ounce of pure gold can be thinned to the equivalent to an acre of land. It is thinner than 1/10th of a human hair. So, the album is not gold and is never cast in gold, but is merely "brushed" with a minute layer of gold to give it its color, which by chance will never tarnish as long as you do not touch it.
In fact because the layer of gold is so minute, the album can actually be played. However if you do this, the needle will remove the layer of gold because it is so thin.
In jewelry, gold plating has higher standards. It must be at least 1/24 of gold. In gold "layering", it has to be at least 1/12 of gold, typically called as "gold filled". Gold filled jewelry does not loose its color, however gold plating will wear off quite quickly if handled and is usually plated over silver, using a electrolysis technique of bonding.
So, the album you are looking at is only worth what it is to someone who likes Elvis. It has no "intrinsic" value, which means that if melted down has no value at all. You probably have more gold in your computer than on this item.
