Where did the Hebrews live before they went to the Promised Land?
Like in 2000 BC? I've heard they came from Mesopotamia.
there's a wide variety of theories:
Egypt, Babylon (Mesopotamia), Persia, Arabian Peninsula, or very close to present-day Israel
Since they were a Semitic people I'd assume somewhere within the Arabian Peninsula (that covers Egypt to Iran, Yemen to Turkey basically)
According to Genetic evidence, many Jews share similiar genes with Arab Bedouin, Kurds, Turks and Lebanese
Which suggests a central location in the Middle East as their homeland, so probably somewhere within Iraq is a good bet (formerly Babylon/Mesopotamia)
