Can i sing "the queen of the night"?
I have a range of G3 - F6, I'm taking singing lessons for 2 years, and my dream is to sing that aria well.
well, it's only one of the hardest ones ever written!
Start a little smaller in scope- look for arias written by Rossini and Donizetti first. they don't go up quite so high, and they will help your voice get used to staying up top with ease. make sure the middle of your voice is in good order, and take that concept up to the high C or even D before you go for the Queen.
there are a lot of ladies who have the notes for it, but they don't have the technique or stamina. Anyone who sings the aria/role has a very healthy respect for the level of difficulty.
check with your teacher: s/he will not let you sing this for another few years, if s/he is smart.
Start easy, take your time. If you're gonna be a Q.o.t.N., it'll wait for you. For heaven's sake, don't force it now!
