Whitney Houston's remake of I will Always Love you by Dolly Parton?
i know this is very random, but i would appricate your honesty.
Why is it that a lot of people think that Whitney stole the song from Dolly Parton? Before whitney sung this song the song wasn't very popular. For example me LOL i never heard of it until i first saw The Bodyguard which was back in '92 i believe. In my opinion, the song is Beautiful always have been but see Whitney blew that song up, she blew it off the charts, one of the best singles off all time, and Dolly doesn't even mind she should be happy Whitney made the song such a big hit. So why is it people have such a damn problem with it, and this question doesn't have **** to do with race im just asking.
Honestly, I think it's because she's getting more recognition for the song. Most people associate "I Will Always Love You" with Whitney Houston and some people don't like that she's "taking the shine" from Dolly. I've heard both versions and I'm more attracted to Whitney's version because I like her style of singing.
I don't see why people make such a big deal over it when Dolly doesn't. It's been said that she's thankful that Houston's bringing her song to a wider audience.
