Any single mums in full time further education?
Whats the hardest thing about being in full time education. I'm planning to return to study full time in september and am looking for some first hand experiences, Whats the toughest thing you've encountered so far?

When I was a single mother, I returned to higher education and was lucky enough to have family to support me as I had to attend college during the evenings as I worked full-time through the day.
I'd rush home from work, pick up the kids, cook tea, take care of some laundry, then head off to college whereby I wouldn't return home until around 10pm. To say I was exhausted some days is an understatement especially when my weekends were taken up with housework and study, but it's so very worth it when you pass your exams and realise all the hard work you've put in. Your children are also proud of you and look up to you when it comes to their own education.
Try to delegate as much around the house as possible dependant on how old your children are, if it's only making their own beds it's something you don't have to do. Use as much of your free time (when the children are in bed) to study or tidy up, take your books to bed and read them. Cook meals in advance if at all possible, freeze them up and they're ready to re-heat in the microwave on days when you have little time or energy. Above all else, don't be afraid to ask for help from your family or tutors, you'll be surprised how much they will.
